Each numbered section has the same operational meaning in both languages. Additional versioned terms may appear before specific publishing, fanwork-policy, beta, verification, payout, or Pass the Feather actions.
AI access and adult confirmation
AI features, including Free Daily AI, are available only to signed-in users who explicitly confirm that they are 18 or older. If you are under 18, do not use these features. This is a self-declaration rather than verified proof of age; it does not replace separate AI processing consent or provider requirements. Reading and ordinary search do not require this AI declaration. The iOS app offers the same provider-labelled AI features and sells fixed consumable AI-credit packs through Apple In-App Purchase. AI remains unavailable in the Google Play beta.

Age eligibility and mature content
Readerous is for users aged 13 and over. Users under 18 must not access mature content. Non-graphic mature fiction is permitted only when accurately labelled 18+ and restricted to adults. Pornography and graphic sexual content intended primarily for sexual arousal are prohibited across the website and mobile apps, including text, images, audio, video, covers, descriptions, and private beta submissions. An 18+ label does not make prohibited material acceptable. Account eligibility is separate from legal capacity to enter paid agreements and receive payouts. Existing payout verification requires a minimum age of 20 and any other applicable provider requirements.

Paid beta reports: access, fees and review
New paid-beta quotes start at ฿100. For new direct-payment agreements, the writer and beta reader agree the price and scope before work. The beta reader submits the completed report; its full feedback remains locked until the writer's Stripe payment is confirmed. Submission alone does not guarantee payment. Readerous receives 20% of the price; Stripe processing fees are deducted from the beta reader's 80% share. The seven-day review period begins when payment is confirmed and report access is granted. The writer may accept the report or report a problem; without a reported problem, the project completes at the deadline. A problem is reviewed by support and does not automatically result in a refund. Approved full or partial refunds include the corresponding Readerous fee; refunds may remain pending if the connected Stripe balance is insufficient. Direct payments credit the beta reader's Stripe balance at payment, and bank payout timing is controlled by Stripe. Readerous does not promise escrow or a seven-day bank-payout hold. Existing funded agreements retain their original payment arrangement. Mandatory rights are not limited by the service review period.

1. Agreement and legal capacity
These Terms govern your use of Readerous. You must explicitly accept the current version before using signed-in features. You may browse public pages without an account. You must have the legal capacity and authority required for every purchase, publishing declaration, licence, paid beta agreement, verification, or payout instruction you make.

2. Accounts and acceptable use
Use accurate information, protect your session, and do not impersonate others, evade moderation, manipulate payments or rankings, scrape protected content, distribute malware, or interfere with the service. One person may participate as a reader, writer, and beta reader, but each action remains subject to its role-specific rules.

3. Reading, Unlocks, and local files
Readerous grants personal access to content you lawfully obtain. A Feather Unlock is immediate access to the identified chapter or edition; it is not a stored-money wallet, bank deposit, or transferable currency. Local files remain on your device unless you deliberately use a connected feature. You may not copy, redistribute, republish, bypass access controls, or commercially exploit another creator’s work without permission.

4. Writers, publishing, and rights
Writers retain ownership of their contributions and grant Readerous only the permissions needed to host, display, deliver, promote, and operate the selected experience. You must own or control every necessary right in text, images, audio, fonts, translations, and other material. Publishing distinguishes Original Work, Readerous Continuation / Derivative Work, Verified Commercial Fanwork, and Non-commercial Fanwork. For a Verified Commercial Fanwork, Readerous is not granting copyright permission and does not claim an official license, endorsement, individual approval, or immunity from claims. Eligibility relies narrowly on a current public rights-holder provision concerning qualifying fan-fiction, novel, story, or publication content, subject to the policy's content, territory, version, and other limits. It does not extend to merchandise, music, game footage, official artwork, extracted assets, or unrelated commercial content. The creator must select the applicable policy and accept every versioned declaration before monetization. Readerous may pause sales, restrict, or remove content after a policy change, valid rights-holder request, dispute, or legal requirement without deleting accrued lawful earnings merely because future monetization stops.

4A. Podfic audio and video
Podfic is a narrated story experience, not a video lesson. A Podfic creator must own or control the rights and consents needed for the story, narration, voice performance, recording, music, sound effects, images, video, captions, translations, and promotional trailer. A policy permitting commercial fan-fiction, story, novel, or publication content does not by itself establish commercial audio, performance, adaptation, music, or video rights; a paid fanwork Podfic requires a separate applicable licence. Do not upload a cloned or simulated person's voice without lawful permission. Paid Podfic media must use a Readerous-approved protected host; free Podfic may use Spotify, YouTube or another approved HTTPS host, and public companions or trailers may use Spotify, YouTube or Cloudflare Stream. Third-party players remain subject to their own terms, controls, branding, and availability. Readerous may use storage, streaming, transcoding, and content-delivery providers, and access tokens or hidden source fields do not guarantee that recording is technically impossible. Readers receive personal listening or viewing access only and may not extract, redistribute, rebroadcast, or bypass access controls.

5. Beta reading and confidentiality
A beta edition is confidential and limited to the invited or accepted beta reader. Access gives no right to publish, train an AI, redistribute, adapt, or quote publicly. Accepting an assignment records the applicable confidentiality and delivery terms. New direct-payment agreements follow the completed-report payment and review terms above. Existing funded agreements retain their original delivery and payment conditions.

6. Paid participation, revenue shares, and payouts
Anyone may write or beta read without payout onboarding. Paid original work, Creator Support, and an eligible Externally Permitted Fanwork use an 80% creator / 20% Readerous gross-rights split. An externally permitted fanwork never creates an artificial royalty or payable balance for the external rights holder. A Readerous-licensed derivative or continuation instead uses 60% successor writer / 20% original Readerous writer / 20% Readerous. Non-commercial fanworks cannot enable paid access. An accepted paid-beta quote uses 80% beta reader / 20% Readerous. Checkout tax is removed before this allocation, and the actual Stripe processing fee is charged to the earning side; refunds, disputes, withholding, provider fees, and foreign exchange may further affect the final amount. Paid story publication requires separately consented Didit identity verification, but adding a payout destination may happen later. Beta earnings continue to use Stripe Connect onboarding. Restricted or disputed earnings are held for review, not forfeited.

7. Checkout and payout routes
Website reader payments are collected through Stripe. In the iOS app, fixed Feather and AI-credit consumables are collected through Apple In-App Purchase; Stripe checkout and arbitrary top-up amounts are not offered there. Paid chapters start at 1 Feather and Creator Support starts at 100 Feathers. When a 60/20/20 web transaction pays two eligible Stripe Connect creators, checkout uses two clearly disclosed Stripe payments and requires a minimum total of ฿300 or the displayed currency equivalent. Access opens only after both payments succeed. If one payment succeeds and the other does not, the reader has 24 hours to retry the incomplete payment; after that window Readerous refunds the successful leg and does not open access. Other web transactions use Stripe and route each creator share through eligible Stripe Connect. Verification, funding, refunds, disputes, holidays, compliance checks, technical issues, or provider processing may delay payment. Readerous marks a payout paid only after reconciliation with the applicable provider.

7A. Requested bank payouts for Feather story earnings
For Feather story earnings, this section replaces the general Stripe-only payout description above. Feather purchases settle to Readerous before spending creates an internal creator payable; they do not fund the creator's Stripe account. Thai creators provide a PromptPay destination for SCB payouts from THB 100. International payouts use K BIZ and retain the THB 1,500 request minimum. Readerous checks Thai PromptPay formatting locally and uses APILayer for available IBAN/SWIFT format and routing checks. These checks do not verify account ownership, account status, or transferability. Creators are responsible for complete and accurate payout details. Eligibility uses available earnings before withdrawal fees, not total sales. Creators accept disclosed fees, exchange rates, estimated receipt and uncertain additional deductions before scheduling. Monday processing has a 09:00 Asia/Bangkok cutoff. Readerous marks a payout paid only after bank-result reconciliation. If a bank definitively rejects or returns a payout, Readerous restores the reserved amount to available earnings, marks the destination for correction, and requires a new request. An unknown or still-processing outcome remains reserved to prevent duplicate payment. Beta direct payments remain in Stripe Connect. Saving a destination or requesting a quote does not send money.

8. Privacy and service providers
Readerous does not sell personal data. Readerous uses service providers only as needed to operate features, authentication, verification, checkout, payouts, security, hosting, and support, as explained in the Privacy Notice. Sensitive payout details are encrypted and masked in ordinary views. Acknowledging the Privacy Notice is not blanket consent for optional processing.

9. Moderation, suspension, and changes
Readerous does not tolerate stolen work, unauthorized monetization, hate, identity-based attacks, threats, harassment, scams, spam, retaliation, or abuse of reporting tools. These rules apply to public discussions and private beta-reading relationships in both directions. A writer may report a beta reader’s submitted feedback, and a beta reader may report a writer’s invitation, reply, or conduct. AI may inspect only the reported material for triage; it does not read the surrounding manuscript or decide guilt, restrictions, or bans. An authorized administrator makes and records every decision. Reports and AI scores do not count as offenses. Two administrator-confirmed temporary account restrictions may lead to an account ban; two administrator-confirmed account bans lawfully linked to the same verified person may lead to indefinite person-level exclusion. Active holds and active bans do not expire while they remain in force. After an administrator lifts one, it remains in the escalation count for six violation-free months and then ages out; a reversed decision does not count. Serious fraud, credible threats, or severe rights abuse may justify stronger action sooner. An affected person has 30 days after notice to appeal to the administrator. Readerous records report frequency, duplicate targets, outcomes, and AI usage to control cost and investigate possible false, retaliatory, or harassing reports. Unusual volume may open a private investigation but is not automatically an offense, and opening that investigation is not disclosed unless account action later requires notice. A connected Stripe account reference may remain linked to the protected enforcement record, but Readerous does not treat it or an AI inference alone as proof that different accounts belong to one person. Material changes use a new version and renewed explicit acceptance. Prior completed transactions retain their recorded terms unless law requires otherwise.
